Entries close next week for Art Unlimited, Dunedoo’s annual competition for hanging art, photography and ceramics.
Artists in these three fields must submit entry forms by next Thursday (24 April) to be eligible to compete for more than $12,000 worth of prizes on offer.
Works are due for personal delivery on 17 and 18 May, with postal deliveries due prior to 15 May. The exhibition will be staged at Dunedoo Central School hall on the weekend of 24 and 25 May, with a preview reception at 7pm on Friday, 23 May.
In addition to the $3000 Pro Hart Prize for Hanging Art, the $3000 Print Storm Prize for Photography and the $3000 Ceramics Prize, there is a new prize of a week’s accommodation at The Meadow House artists’ retreat near Ilford valued at $1400, for the best landscape work.
Other prizes are Sullivans People’s Choice Award of $500, Orana Arts Indigenous artist prize of $500, and a $500 prize plus an exhibition opportunity from Fairview ArtSpace, Mudgee. The Janace Holmes Family Memorial Prize is $250 and ABC Western Plains offers $250 worth of ABC merchandise for the work that best depicts the Western Region.
The Art Unlimited judging panel consists of some of Australia’s most highly regarded exponents in the three categories. Hanging art judge is Acting Director of Orange Regional Gallery, Brenda Gray; photography judge is acclaimed photographer and printmaker, Bill Moseley; and ceramics judge is internationally recognised potter Lino Alvarez.

Tickets for Art Unlimited’s preview evening on 23 May 2014 are $30 which include drinks and canapés, with fine wines provided by Steins, Mudgee.
