Terms and Conditions

The Art Unlimited event will take place at the Dunedoo Central School Hall, Digilah Street, Dunedoo NSW 2844 on Friday October 24, Saturday October 25 & Sunday October 26, 2008.
This year's theme is "My Landscape". The artist's landscape is not restricted to an urban, rural, indoor or outdoor landscape. It may be interpreted in the widest sense as the artist's view of contemporary Australian life or the environment in which the artist exists.

Publicity opportunity for entrants A publicity campaign will accompany the Art Unlimited event. Artists who submit artist statements (up to 300 words), images in jpeg format on disc of their work and a close up shot of themselves in their work environment will be considered for inclusion in the publicity campaign. Statements and images can be posted with entry forms. They must be received by September 29, 2008 to be considered for inclusion.

  1. Artists are invited to enter the 2008 Art Unlimited competition by posting the completed entry form, together with a $5 entry fee to the above mentioned postal address. Cheques or money orders must be made payable to the Dunedoo Lions Club. Late entries will not be accepted.
  2. Works entered must meet the following criteria:
    1. Hanging art - 2 dimensional in any media
    2. Photograph - must be mounted unframed or mounted with a matte only (no glass or frame)
    3. Ceramic piece - functional or decorative ceramic work.
  3. Members of the committee and judging panel may exhibit works for sale in the Art Unlimited exhibition but cannot take part in the Art Unlimited competition and will be excluded from the judging process.
  4. Artists may enter multiple individual artworks. The same entry procedure and a separate $5 entry fee applies to each artwork submitted.
  5. Any publicity material submitted by the artist to be considered for inclusion in the publicity campaign must be clearly marked (with marking pen) with contact details of the artist including the name of the artist and the title of the work(s).
  6. Any material submitted for publicity purposes may be reproduced at the discretion of the committee (including the website) for promotional purposes and at no cost to the committee.
  7. If your artwork is for sale, please include the sale price in your entry form and on the back of the work.
  8. Artist profiles can also be emailed to normagal@bigpond.net.au. The profile is for promotional purposes only and will not form any part of the judging process.
  9. In the event that the number of entries exceeds the amount of display space available for the competition, the committee reserves the right to withdraw artworks from the competition. The decision of the committee is final and no correspondence regarding its decision will be entered into. Entry fees paid will be refunded for any works that are not included in the competition. Other costs relating to the return of artwork(s) will be the sole responsibility of the artist.
  10. The winning artworks will be decided by the selected panel of judges. The panel's decision is final and not open for further discussion. The panel of judges will award $2000 in prize money to the entrant awarded 1st place in each of the following categories:
    1. hanging art,
    2. photography &
    3. ceramics.

    The winner of the Sullivans CRT People's Choice Award will be contacted by phone, email or mail on October 27 by the Art Unlimited Committee. The winner will recieve $500.00 in prize money.
  11. The closing date for entry forms is Monday September 29, 2008. Entry forms will not be accepted beyond this date.
  12. The closing date for artworks delivery is Monday October 13, 2008. Artworks must be delivered by Monday October 13 to:

  13. Artworks received after this date will be excluded from the Art Unlimited event.
  14. Art Unlimited will receive a 25% commission of all works sold throughout the duration of the Art Unlimited event.
  15. Delivery and return transport arrangements to and from the Art Unlimited event must be organised and paid for by the artist.
  16. All artworks must be clearly marked on the back with the artist's name, address, title and date of work. If your work is for sale, also include the sale price on the back (not including gallery commission). If the artist is registered for GST, the sale price must include GST. The sale price will not be changed.
  17. All delivered artworks must be adequately packaged and marked with the artist's name and address in marking pen. Artworks that arrive damaged will not be exhibited. The artist will be notified. All returned artworks will be wrapped in the same material they were delivered in.
  18. An artwork must be presentable for exhibition, any artworks that are not ready for display will not be included in the Art Unlimited event.
  19. The cost of transit insurance must be met by the artist. The Art Unlimited committee accepts no responsibility /liability for any damage incurred to the artworks.
  20. Following the Art Unlimited event all artworks must be collected/returned by Sunday 26 October (4pm-7pm), 2008. Art Unlimited will not have insurance or holding capacity beyond this date.
  21. Entries will be covered by Art Unlimited insurance for the duration of the event only.
  22. Entry is restricted to artists aged 18 years and over.
  23. A selection of the works chosen by the panel of judges to be exhibited from October 31 to November 30 at:

  24. The official opening will take place at Fairview Artspace at 7pm on Friday 31 October. The travel arrangements of selected works will be organised by the Art Unlimited Committee.
  25. It is the responsibility for the owners of unsold works to collect or arrange for the transport of the works from Fairview Artspace on Sunday 30 November no earlier than 4pm.
